Current economic times are tough; no point of argument. Latest newsflashes show the crisis is also affecting Belgium. However, the Anglo Belgian Corporation proves that innovation, export, local roots and employment are still a key to success. During an exclusive press conference they presented the new powerful DL36-engine, developed and made in Ghent.
Thanks to a thorough cooperation with the State University of Ghent, ABC has succeeded to develop this new and unique piece already complying with the upcoming IMO-tier 3 emission limits in 2016. A technical masterpiece … the Belgians did it again!
ABC is developing and manufacturing medium-speed engines (600 – 1000 rpm) for the marine industry, locomotive builders and power generation. At least 85% of the production is passing Belgian borders, going all over the world. This new DL36-engine range double the current power range which opens new opportunities in various new markets.
The revelation of the DL36 was by far the moment supreme during the centennial celebration. Over 1000 customers and worldwide relations came over to visit the new manufacturing hall, to experience the new museum showing ABC’s history and were treated to a marvelous show where the DL36 was the center of attention, all within a musical context performed by famous Belgian artists.
ABC is ready for at least another 100 years and will affirm Belgium as an worldwide industrial center.
